@ Creative Cowboy Films Arahmaiani
Arahmaiani’s (1961 Bandung, Indonesia) werk gaat over hedendaagse politiek, geweld, kritiek op het kapitaal en het vrouwelijk lichaam. Haar eigen identiteit als moslim bemiddelt tussen islamitische, hindoeïstische, boeddhistische en animistische overtuigingen. Ze combineert haar kritische houding ten opzichte van de islam met een strijd tegen de algemene stigmatisering ervan. Sinds 2010 houdt ze zich samen met Tibetaanse monniken op het Tibetaanse Plateau bezig met de aanpak van milieuvraagstukken.
In Nederland was haar werk ondermeer te zien in de groepstentoonstelling Suspended Histories (2013) bij Museum van Loon en was haar werk zij onderdeel van de groepstentoonstelling On the Nature of Botanical Gardens (2020) bij Framer Framed, Amsterdam.
