M•Others' Day in Molenwijk

Come and celebrate M•Others’ Day in Molenwijk! You are warmly invited to this yearly event on Sunday 14 May in Werkplaats Molenwijk, hosted by the creative collective to M•Others. Everyone is welcome from 13:00 until 17:00 to acknowledge our mothers, parents and caretakers.

A playful installation will be activated in the space for visitors to experience, on the position of mothering* and the redefining of parenthood. The installation is developed from a game Galaxy of Care – one that was co-designed with a full-time housewife to share her maternal and child-rearing stories. Now, these stories will be made open and can be engaged with by visitors and their families, guiding them to explore and (re)imagine their own ways of parenting and family structures.

Meanwhile, the space will become a cozy and shared living room – for mothers, others, parents and caretakers from different households to meet and gather. It is also a common and public nursery centre, making visible domestic care works and collective raising. There will be music, food and drinks, while books and games about mothering will be provided (we also encourage you to bring your own favourites to share).

Let’s celebrate all the joys, learning, pride, hardships and more of mothering together! Enjoy your well-deserved M•Others’ Day with dynamic parenthoods.

This event is free and hosted in fluid languages: English, Dutch and any languages you can find in common (Mandarin, Papiamento, Spanish, French, etc).
