Taha Mehmood
Taha Mehmood is a media practitioner and researcher based in London. His interests include film, new economies, the politics of information, and surveillance. He graduated at the London School of Economics‘ Cities Programme, he has been researcher with the Information Society Project at Sarai, Centre for the Study of Developing Societies, Delhi. Mehmood presented his installation Presence of an Absence, in collaboration with artist Sophie Ernst, at the event of the same name in 2011, organised in cooperation with Framer Framed and the Scheltema Complex in Leiden. His research focuses on excavations around social life of technology and risk, spatial restructuring, identification practices, emerging work and leisure practices especially in private security industries and new economy labour.
