Guided tour in the Molenwijk
You are most welcome to visit Werkplaats Molenwijk on 26 June for a special event during the Amsterdam Art Weekend. Werkplaats Molenwijk will be theĀ starting point for a tour through the neighbourhood by Sietske Roorda.
Sietske Roorda did research on the neighbourhood for Public Art Amsterdam and also made a podcast about it. Sietske Roorda is a researcher, writer and editor specialised in contemporary art with a special interest in politically engaged and feminist art.
At 12:00 our doors open and at 12:30 the tour along the public art in the Molenwijk starts.
You will also have the opportunity to visit Himmelsbach’s Library of Ideas presentation. During his residency at Werkplaats Molenwijk, social artist Domenique Himmelsbach de Vries worked on a library of ideas containing 120 sketch plans for social interventions. He developed the library in dialogue with local residents during weekly consultation hours. During these consultation hours local residents could bring in their own issues, receive artistic reflection, and develop new ideas.
