Manchester International Law Center
Manchester International Law Center is making an innovative contribution to international legal scholarship. Manchester’s School of Law has a long and distinguished reputation in research in the area of international law in the United Kingdom and in Europe.
As early as the 1920s, when the renowned James Leslie Brierly was teaching at the School of Law, Manchester established itself as a centre of excellence for research in international law.Ā The Manchester International Law Centre was founded in 2014 by Professors Jean dāAspremont and Iain Scobbie with the help of Dr Yenkong Hodu and Dr Jackson Maogoto. It is now a group of over 30 academics and PhD students whoĀ research international law.
MILC is an internationally-recognised centre of academic excellence whose members seek to make innovative contributions to international legal scholarship while also providing consultancy and advice to governments, international organisations and NGOs on questions of international law. MILC also organises the prestigiousĀ Melland Schill Lecture Series.
