Nikita Kadan
Nikita Kadan (born 1982 in Kyiv, Ukraine) is an artist living and working in Kyiv, Ukraine. In his practice Kadan employs painting, graphics, and installation, often in interdisciplinary collaboration with architects, sociologists and human rights activists. His work is a critical investigation into the experience of present-day Ukrainians and their relationship to their Soviet past.
He is a member of the artist group REP (Revolutionary Experimental Space) and founding member of Hudrada (Artistic Committee), a curatorial and activist collective. Kadanâs work has been exhibited internationally, including exhibitions at CCA Ujazdowski Castle Warsaw; ZKM Karlsruhe; Pinakothek der Moderne Munich; Castello di Rivoli; 1st Kyiv Biennale at Art Arsenal; and the 55th Venice Biennale. He is the winner of the PinchukArtCentre Prize, 2011. In 2017, Nikita Kadan partakes in the group exhibition It wonât be long now, Comrades! at Framer Framed, Amsterdam.
