Anna Bitkina
Anna Bitkina is a curator of visual contemporary art, performative and educational projects, she is a co-founder of a female and nomadic curatorial duo TOK. In her durational and transdisciplinary projects Anna aims to generate critical analysis about contemporary reality by addressing implications caused by different forms of dominating ideologies and oppressive powers and its consequences on everyday life. She studies complex socio-political environments, urban and industrial locations, traumatised communities, unresolved historical events and nature calamities. Anna was a research fellow of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation in Berlin and a finalist of the EUNIC competition for curators.
Her projects include: Echoes of The Sea by Nabil Ali in collaboration with Museum of Ethnography and Anthropology /Kunstkamera and Sevcable Port, St Petersburg (2022); solo show Nucleus of Capital by Nina Støttrup Larsen at P-OST, Nijmegen (2021). Being a long-term collaborator of Gluklya Anna curated her ongoing performative project Debates of Division. When Private Becomes Public from 2014 to 2019. She also co-curated the 6th Tallinn Photomonth Biennale (2021), exhibition Get Real! at Het Nieuwe Instituut, Rotterdam (2022), Voicing the silence, Moscow, CCI (2021).
