Framer Framed: Trinh T. Minh-ha

On Monday 13 April, Trinh T. Min-ha will give a lecture in Utrecht as part of the series Framer Framed: The Western Vision of Non-Western Art. The title of the series is based on a publication by Trinh T. Minh-ha (Framer Framed, 1992, Routledge).

Trinh Minh-ha is a filmmaker and scientist born in Vietnam and currently living in the United States. She is a Professor of  Genderstudies and Rhetoric (Film) at the University of California, Berkeley. The debate afterwards will be led by Shervin Nekuee.

On  14th April Trinh T. Minh-ha will also be present the Amsterdam Stadsschouwburg for THE OLD BRAND NEW, an interdisciplinary lecture series revolving around the concept ‘new’ in the arts.

Additionallt, De Balie presents: The films of Trinh T. Minh-ha, a retrospective from Friday 10th until Wednesday 15th April.


Framer Framed is a series of debates and lectures made by  AAMU Museum voor hedendaagse Aboriginal kunst, Casco Office for Art, Design and Theory, Centraal Museum, Museum Maluku, Kosmopolis Utrecht and  TUMULT
