Fundraising event: Friends for Lebanon

On 10 December, in response to the current humanitarian crisis in Lebanon, Framer Framed hosts the fundraising event Friends for Lebanon, a night initiated by STUDIO BEIRUT in solidarity with the people of Lebanon. The night aims to raise funds for projects that support the people who were forced to leave their homes and villages and are now in refugee shelters in Beirut. With the ceasefire appearing to hold, thousands of Lebanese civilians are returning to their homes, finding them destroyed beyond repair.

Studio Beirut functions as an urban laboratory where several initiatives are gathered. During Friends for Lebanon, they specifically ask support for the Studio Beirut Soup Kitchen and Artists In Shelter by Beirut Art Centre.

The soup kitchen cooks meals for those staying in refugee centres in Beirut. For at least four upcoming months, Studio Beirut will cook for everyone without a home and in need of a meal. Using the kitchen of Brazzaville, they cook 3500 meals a month that are evenly distributed at several refugee centres by Nation Station.

Artist in Shelter is an initiative that aims to bring the healing power of art to displaced children, bringing together a team of artists with diverse skills and backgrounds to provide young children displaced from their homes with an outlet for creative expression.
