Majid Fathizadeh was born in Zahedan, Iran in 1977. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Painting from Tehran University and a Master of Arts in Illustration from Tehran University. His paintings are inspired by the European Old Masters but depict the chaos of our own times, from environmental catastrophe to biopolitics and the relentless humanitarian disaster of war. His monumental scale paintings are satires on a contemporary folly with a cacophony of visual storytelling, delivered with a painterly delicacy. He is currently based in Iran.
