Opening Exhibition: Remembering Otherwise - OBA De Hallen
The KunstenDialoog Foundation and OBA De Hallen are pleased to invite you to the opening of Remembering Otherwise, a solo exhibition by artist belit sağ, created in close collaboration with curator Katia Krupennikova.
The exhibition, previously on display at Framer Framed, brings together stories surrounding a crucial labour dispute in 1978 in Veghel, North Brabant, led by female migrant workers from Turkey. The history is depicted in a monumental tapestry, complemented by a multi-channel video installation and collages based on the artist’s archival research.
Remembering Otherwise is on display at OBA De Hallen and invites visitors to experience these underrepresented stories through art, encounters and conversation. The opening will take place on Saturday 17 January, starting at 18:00, with doors opening at 17:45. The programme includes an introduction by district chair Fenna Ulichki, musical performances, short lectures and a panel discussion with the artist and speakers involved. The evening concludes with drinks.

Remembering Otherwise was on display at Framer Framed from 2 October to 12 November 2025; the tapestry Weaving Solidarity (2025) was on display at the Stadsloket in Amsterdam East. The exhibition was supported by the TextielMuseum Tilburg, the Amsterdam Fund for the Arts (AFK), the Mondriaan Fund, the Municipality of Amsterdam East District, SAHA Association, Stichting Amarte Fund and PPO Werktuig.
