Yra van Dijk

Yra van Dijk is a modern literary scholar and visiting professor at the LUCAS Institute of Leiden University. She publishes on contemporary and Caribbean literature, literacy education, and literacy. Her most recent work is “Omdat Lezen Loont” (Pica, 2022), a collection of articles on reading in education.

She is a board member of the International Association for Dutch Studies and the Council for Dutch Studies. She is part of the Fixdit writers’ collective, which advocates for more diversity in the canon and the literary world.

Since 2005, Yra van Dijk has been a contributor to NRC Handelsblad Boeken and regularly writes essays and reviews on Dutch literature and literary publications.
