Noor Mertens

In 2011, Noor Mertens (b. 1984) became a junior conservator in the Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen, eventually being appointed the curator of Modern and Contemporary Art and the City Collection in 2013. In 2012 she was responsible for the exhibition ‘Meneer Delta. Een galeriehouder en verzamelaar in het museum’, whereby a Boijmans Study was released about the history of the Rotterdamese Gallery. Furthermore, Mertens put together the exhibitions ‘Renilde Hammacher, een grote, stimulerende en stuwende kracht’ and ‘De verlengde blik’. In 2014, Noor Mertens was a guest speaker for the debate Collecting without boundaries. Creating a future-proof museum in 2014, organised by Framer Framed.

Mertens is currently the Director of Kunstverein Langenhagen art association in Germany. Next to this, she works part-time for the Defares Collection, she is a member of the board of the magazine Tubelight and she is a member of the art committee of the Erasmus University.
