    Martin Smit is curator of collections at Hortus Botanicus Amsterdam.

    Previously worked as the curator of the Stellenbosch University Botanical Garden in South Africa. He has worked on numerous research projects related to the conservation and restoration of various plant species as well as the awareness within botanical gardens on aspects of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD).
