Stay Strong Photo Stories #6
After five successful editions, the next Stay Strong Photo Stories begins on 21 January 2025. This participatory photo project is led by Karine Zenja Verluis in collaboration with Framer Framed. It highlights the power of art and photography to connect, inspire, and share personal stories. Participants will document their daily lives through a series of assignments, creating story-based visuals.
The first edition of this project took place amidst the pandemic. During online workshops participants used photography and storytelling to look for silver linings on days marked by isolation and uncertainty. The fifth workshop offered young Ukrainian people in Khust (West-Ukraine) the possibility to document their daily lives in a safe space. The sixth edition aims to do the same, now for Ukrainian people of all ages.
The workshop consists of five sessions, held on Tuesdays from 16:00 to 17:30 at Framer Framed. It is open to participants of all experience levels. At the end of each session, participants will receive a short homework assignment. You can take photos using your mobile phone or digital camera.
Stay Strong Photo Stories #6 is an initiative of Framer Framed and Karine Zenja Verluis. This addition is made possible thanks to the support of Mondriaan Fonds and De Regenbooggroep Amsterdam.
Karine Versluis is a documentary photographer with a Ukrainian background, visual storyteller, and social worker specializing in trauma. In 2023, she published her third photo book, which explores her roots in Ukraine. The book was selected for the Book Awards at the Rencontres d’Arles Photo Festival (FR) and was named one of the top 10 most beautiful photo books of 2023 by both De Volkskrant and NRC.

Воркшопи про час, у якому ми зараз живемо. Ми віримо, що мистецтво та фотографія можуть об’єднувати та надихати. Під час п’яти фотосемінарів вам запропонують курс, під час якого ви навчитеся розповідати історію за допомогою фотографій. Майстер-класи для кожного рівня. В кінці кожного семінару ви отримаєте коротке домашнє завдання. Фотографувати можна за допомогою мобільного телефону або цифрової камери. Майстер-класи безкоштовні, але якщо ви берете участь, ми розраховуємо на вашу присутність і мотивацію.
