Úna Henry

Úna Henry is the Director of the Willem de Kooning Academy, Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences since 2023. She was the founding director of the Avans Master Institute, and between 2018-2022 wasHead of the Master Institute of Visual Cultures, St. Joost School of Art of Avans University of Applied Sciences. She has extensive experience of higher education, combined with knowledge of arts research at the intersection of civic engagement, environmental and cultural thought, expanded through technology, economics and science. 
With a background as an artist and curator, Úna received her doctorate in Fine Art from the Ruskin School of Fine Art, University of Oxford in 2017. She serves on several boards, amongst which the European League of Institutes of the Arts (ELIA), the board of directors CASE (Centre for Arts and Sciences Education), board member Stichting Hierdoor tot Hoger, and advisory Board member EU4Ocean Coalition for Ocean Literacy.
