Nathalie Tappin
Nathalie Ayesha Tappin was born in Barbados and grew up in Rotterdam. From an early age, her life revolved around art and creativity. She studied Creative Communication in Rotterdam, completed an orientation year at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy, and graduated from the Graphic Design programme at MK24 in Amsterdam. She now lives in the village of Kwadijk, where she has her own artistic practice. She is also active in the arts and culture sector.
Through her experiences in both the art world and education, she gained more and more insight into the direction she wanted to take. Whether it’s developing educational programmes, setting up conceptual projects or facilitating workshops, Nathalie does so with great pleasure and dedication. She draws energy from connecting art with young people and wants to inspire them to create and discover their own talents.
Thanks to her broad experience with various art disciplines, she has a good understanding of the creation, value and applications of art. She enjoys sharing these insights with others. She has taught at MK24, Talland College, Scholengemeenschap Antoni Gaudi and is also affiliated with the Gerrit Rietveld Academie.
The move to Framer Framed as Coordinator of Education, Community & Learning was therefore a logical choice. In this role, she develops programmes that are not only focused on knowledge transfer, but also on stimulating dialogue, encounters and creativity. These include workshops for all ages, community-driven projects and new initiatives such as a concept store that showcases the work of collaborating artists. In this way, she works with others to build a space where art, learning and community reinforce each other.
