Join on 13 November 2026 for the second edition of the Slow AI symposium Sharing Practices. This year, the symposium highlights the practices and methods that have emerged through ‘Material Playgrounds’ and puts them in dialogue with narratives and ideas currently circulating in our social, cultural and research spheres.

Over the past year, the Slow AI research project has unfolded across Material Playgrounds: collaborative sessions exploring divination, somatics, sound, storytelling and more. This gathering marks a moment to reflect on the first year of the project, to think together about AI not as an inevitable force or a tool to be optimised, but as a cultural and relational object that entangles with ecological, political and cultural environments.

From memes and immortal jellyfish to small AI models as tools for storytelling, co-creation and archival exploration, this programme invites the audience to rethink the purpose and presumed inevitability of algorithmic technologies and to imagine ways forward that break with cycles of extraction, speed and optimisation.

The programme features presentations by Marissa Lee Benedict, Persijn Broersen, Margit Lukács, Sara Pezzolesi, David Rueter, and Natalia Stanusch in conversation with Janine Armin, Carlo De Gaetano, Mariana Fernández Mora, Idil Galip, Inte Gloerich, Sabine Niederer, Barbara Visser and Dan Xu.
