On 26 July 2026, Framer Framed hosts the one-day conference Queer & Trans Social Justice: Art, Community & Survival, organised by LGBTQ Humans of the Netherlands and Humans of Film Festival. It examines how art, creativity and community can advance social justice for queer and transgender people, centring BIPOC, refugee and migrant perspectives.

Join for a day of exploring how art, creativity and community can advance social justice for queer and transgender people, with a special focus on BIPOC, refugee and migrant perspectives. The programme consists of four parts: an opening keynote and panel discussion on the role of art in creating space for queer and trans expression; a short film followed by a panel conversation on migration, belonging and lived experiences within queer and trans communities; a series of interactive workshops, from which visitors can choose one to participate in (workshops can also be attended separately with individual registration); and a shared lunch accompanied by performances, spoken word and storytelling.

Visitors are invited to listen, reflect, ask questions and exchange experiences throughout the day. Through conversation, artistic expression, workshops and shared meals, the conference creates space for dialogue, collective care and connection. Together, participants explore how creativity can foster visibility, resilience and solidarity, and how communities can continue building more inclusive and just futures.

The programme features moderators Alejandra Ortiz and Natsumi Hernandez, Nicchelle Buyne with contributions and performances from Sorab Roustayar, Ana Paula Lima, Mavi Veloso, Micha Adarian, Dora Melkonyan, M. Alberto, Nene Mone. The day also includes workshops led by Sarita Bajnath and Emily Higginson.
