Dr. Arnaldo Cruz-Malavé is a scholar and educator, holding a Ph.D. and serving as a Professor of Spanish and Comparative Literature. With an academic journey began at Yale University, where he attained his B.A., Dr. Cruz-Malavé furthered his studies and received his Ph.D. from Stanford University.

He currently serves as the Director of the Latin American and Latino Studies Institute. His areas of expertise encompass a broad spectrum of interests, with a primary focus on Hispanic Caribbean Literature, New York in Latino Literature, Gender and Sexuality in Latin American and U.S. Latin Literatures, and the complexities of the Latin American Neobaroque.
