Living with the Delta: Myth, Memory and Water Knowledge

As part of the opening weekend of Wild Waters, Framer Framed presents a programme on 20 June 2026 that delves into the lives of waterside communities from different geographical perspectives. Living with the Delta: Myth, Memory and Water Knowledge highlights artistic practices from Ewa Ciepielewska & Agnieszka Brzeżańska, Ashfika Rahman, Anna Moreno and Eunice Pais, that engage with identities emerging along the banks and deltas of rivers, focusing on more than human relationships formed with and by the environment.

In looking at the playful, mythological and spiritual relationships with the water as well as the scientific and historical implications of manmade ecological crises, the artists present the complex realities of living in proximity to and coexisting with the river. These practices propose approaches to meaningful stewardship over the environment, rooted not only in scientific fact but also cultural significance.

The programme consist of presentations by the artists, followed by conversations. Moderated by exhibition curator Àngels Miralda, this afternoon aims to expand the dialogue between the artists and their works, delving into questions on how to handle the precarious balance between the prosperity and development of human communities and the preservation of the water sources that sustain them.
