Ebissé Wakjira
Ebissé Wakjira is publications, magazine and podcast coordinator at Framer Framed. In addition to the exhibition catalog, she coordinates research-based publications that serve as a catalyst for dialogue between modern art museums, ethnographic museums, and heritage institutions. Last year, Art for (and within) a Citizen Scene & Be Water, My Friend and Two Diaries: Gluklya & Murad were published. Ebisse is currently working on Framer Framed’s anniversary book, with contributions from curators, artists, and researchers from Framer Framed’s past and present. She is also collaborating with artist Jonas Staal and academic, writer, lawyer, and activist Radha D’Souza to transform the Court for Intergenerational Climate Crimes (CICC) exhibition into a publication.
She also works as an editor for The Dutch Review of Books (De Nederlandse Boekengids) and is co-founder of Dipsaus Podcast and publisher of Dipsaus books in collaboration with Uitgeverij Pluim. She previously worked at the Dutch Council for Culture, legal adviser of the government in the fields of the arts, culture and media. She also worked as an acquisitions editor of non-fiction at Amsterdam University Press. Her interests lie at the intersection of policy, arts, community building and cross-cultural exchange.
She is a board member of De Podcastnetwerk, Musea Bekennen Kleur and the International Institute of Social History.
