Caring through kneading: workshop in Bakery Solinger
On June 30, a baking and sharing session at Bakkerij Solinger at NDSM-werf takes place as part of the Bread art in the Molenwijk program. Artist-in-residence of the collective Brood Atelier Suzanne Bernhardt and Lenn Cox organise a workshop exploring the role of care, maintenance and routines in our lives through the act of working with bread.
As participants reflect together on shared maintenance strategies, they learn to knead flatbreads, have the opportunity to bake in a professional bakery and conclude the experience by breaking bread together.

Would you like to join the car ride? If so, be at Werkplaats Molenwijk (Molenaarsweg 3) at 09:30. The workshop is free, but registration is required and can be done via werkplaats@framerframed.nl / +31 6 57093644 (please indicate whether you will come on your own or join the car ride). There is limited space for 10 participants from the Molenwijk neighbourhood.
Each season, Werkplaats Molenwijk offers a free field trip to a location in Amsterdam related to the season’s theme, places that are relevant to local residents but which they might not easily visit on their own.

Bread Art in the Molenwijk consists of a series of participatory art workshops and celebratory activities centered around cultural rituals and creative traditions in the art of bread making. From flour drawings to sculpting with dough and baking bread installations. Local residents are invited by artist-in-residence Tina Lenz to share their bread stories with the Brood Atelier, a group of co-residents developing artistic activities in the neighborhood. The results will be exhibited on 11 October at Werkplaats Molenwijk.
