Daniel Browning Daniel Browning
Daniel Browning is an Aboriginal journalist and radio broadcaster with the ABC (Australian Broadcasting Corporation), and sound artist. He produces and presents the Indigenous arts and culture program Awaye!, which is broadcast on Radio National, the ABC’s specialist arts and journalism network.
He is a descendant of the Bundjalung people whose traditional land is on the far north coast of New South Wales. Through his mother, he is a descendant of the Kullilli people of south-western Queensland. Daniel Browning completed his degree in Visual Arts at the Queensland University of Technology, with a major in painting.
Daniel Browning has been a panelist for the debates Indigenous Art Now! on 28 June 2011 and The Own View on 30 May 2010 about contemporary aboriginal art, organised by Framer Framed. He has also worked as the co-editor of Australian art magazine Artlink Indigenous and previously edited Artlink blak on blak.
