to M•Others is a creative publication and art education project centred on the ideology of parenting, especially on M(Other)ing. Using a participatory approach, the publications are made in collaboration with M•Others from diverse backgrounds, to share their domestic stories with the public. It also designs pedagogical tools to explore artistic ways of engaging with children, young people, parents and caretakers, to re-image family structures, social education and ways of becoming families.

It was initiated in Amsterdam-Zuidoost, during the first pandemic wave in 2020 by artist Sun Chang. Reflecting on the urgency and essentiality of the care system, to M•Others uses the domestic perspective to discuss the topics about the invisible domestic labour, the collective motherhoods, the colonisation of the Dutch birthcare system and the patriarchally-dominated culture industry.

to M•Others works in collaboration with cultural institutions and social organisations, such as Vrouwenmantel Art Research Group, Stichting Congada, CBK Zuidoost, Framer Framed, Werkplaats Molenwijk, PBAZO, Heesterveld Creative Community. It is supported by Amsterdams Fonds voor de Kunst (2021, 2023-2024), Stimuleringsfonds (2023-2024), Mondriaan Fund (2022-2023), Bankgiro Loterij Fonds(2021), Sichting Stokroos (2021) and Witte Rook (2021-2022).
