The Saemangeum Citizens’ Ecological Investigation Team is a non-profit organization created to oppose the government’s Saemangeum development project for the Mangyeong River and Dongjin River estuaries, an area equivalent to two-thirds of Seoul. The organisation has been active since December 2003 and believes that Saemangeum citizens themselves are best positioned to monitor the area and provide updates to other inhabitants. Their activities are carried out through voluntary mobilization of citizens.

군산미군기지우리땅찾기시민모임은 1998년 군산시민들이 자발적으로 결성한 단체로 미군기지로 인한 환경오염, 주민피해, 소음 문제에 대응해왔다. 1998년부터 미군기지 정문 앞에서 수요집회를 비롯 다양한 저항운동을 통해 불평등한 한미관계를 알리기 위해 노력하며 군사기지, 특히 주둔 미군기지 문제로 싸우고 있는 한반도와 일본, 오키나와 등 아시아지역에서의 연대를 이어가고 있다.​​
