Matras Platform Matras Platform
Matras Platform is an informal mixed group of migrants and travelers from around the world who are living in Amsterdam initiated by artist Gluklya during the COVID pandemic. At the start of the pandemic year, Khalid Jone one of the leaders of the We Are Here movement visited Gluklya’s studio. The artist was very happy to meet him as after Carnival of the Oppressed Feeling in 2017 they have not sustained the dialogue that started there. Gluklya discussed with him the idea of dealing with mattresses outside, as she saw a lot of them in the streets of Amsterdam. Since the pandemic started, people were throwing a lot of stuff out, more than ever and especially matrasses. What a perfect place to write messages, imagine!
