Ilaria Palmieri is a spatial designer and researcher based between Italy and the Netherlands. She is a PhD candidate at Roma Tre University in the Faculty of Architecture, City and Landscape. Ilaria explores the role of domesticity and dwelling practices, in particular in contexts of migration and displacement. Her research combines architectural analysis, ethnography, and participatory mapping. Her work has been exhibited at the Nieuwe Institut in Rotterdam and Dutch Design Week, among others.

In 2022, llaria co-founded the research and design duo Common Ground Practice. She co-edited They Asked Me to Design a House, I Asked Them to Design a Home (Set Margins, 2025) and is a Graham Foundation Grantee (2025).
