Maïa Tellit Hawad Maïa Tellit Hawad
Maïa Tellit Hawad is a writer and scholar of French and Tuareg origins based in Marseille. Trained as a philosopher (Sorbonne, EHESS – Paris 7), her research revolves around the imaginaries of the Sahara in French Africanist studies and the intersection of colonial, racial and extractivist dynamics in the region’s contemporary administration. Her recent work focuses on nomadic becomings in contemporary Tuareg societies. Since 2023, she has been part of the teaching team of the research studio RS6 – Saharan Becomings in the Environmental Architecture program of the Royal College of Art in London.
