Workshop at Framer Framed Noord: De Makerij

Every other week from Wednesday 23 September 2026, De Makerij organises a textile workshop, focusing on various techniques and ways of reusing existing materials. The workshop series takes place at Framer Framed Noord.

The workshop series focuses on experimentation, upcycling and creativity. Participants explore various textile techniques and experiment with shape, colour, pattern and material. Clothes and textiles that have been gathering dust in the wardrobe for some time are given a surprising new lease of life.

    Programme

    Denim Revival
Transforming old denim using a sewing machine and experimenting with new shapes and uses.

    Visible Mending & Sashiko
Visibly repairing clothes with decorative embroidery. Tears and wear and tear become part of the design.

    Shibori
Discover Japanese tie-dye and dyeing techniques, and explore how folding, tying and colouring create unexpected patterns.

    Eco Prints
Create natural prints using leaves and flowers, and discover the colours and shapes that nature has to offer.

No experience with textiles or sewing is required. The workshops are open to anyone who is curious about textiles and wants to discover different techniques for making and reusing materials. There is plenty of opportunity to try out techniques, exchange ideas and learn from one another. The workshops are led by Ineke Siersema, a designer, lecturer and specialist in textile innovation and 3D fashion design. For over thirty years, she has been combining creativity, technology and sustainability in her work and teaching.

Please email noord@framerframed.nl to register. Please note: unfortunately, the workshop is already full. If you register, you are placed on the waiting list.
