yourfriendkas

Kas is a friend and artist based between Amsterdam and Almaty, with roots in Central Asia. They are involved in various practices related to open/communal space, knowledge in shared and decentralized contexts, trans-local solidarity, and the connection of direct action and resistance to art and cultural work.

Their work takes on the forms of audiovisual experiences with parts of writing and performance, community building, and various reproductive/supportive involvements, such as helping out at Moira Expo communal space, Casco Art Institute , and an annual festival for activists and organizers.

Kas is one half of the Co/Living: Points of Entry project, together with Agata Guńka. Kas and Aga have decided to collaborate on their project through their shared interest in collective living.
