Yara Said

Yara Said is an Amsterdam-based artist, curator, researcher, and activist. Her work spans across various mediums, including painting, design, and multimedia installations. Said graduated from the Sandberg Institute’s Fine Arts Masters program, with a research on sound as a tool for contemporary emancipatory practices. This topic emerged from her own experience and memory of sound and noise, confronted with the oppressive systems at play in both the Middle East and Europe.

She is the co-founder of the Salwa Foundation, an art project that turned into a foundation aimed at promoting art as a means of empowering refugees and displaced individuals. Under the umbrella of the foundation, Said curated and took part in numerous exhibitions and events.
