Kamila Narysheva

Kamila Narysheva is a sound and media artist based in Almaty, Kazachstan. She holds an MA in Curatorial Studies from Bard College (New York) and Smolny College (St. Petersburg). Working with spatial sound, field recording and rule-based systems, she creates installations and performances that examine nuclear legacy, digital infrastructure and cultural memory in Central Asia.

Recent work includes T1/2 (Half-Life) (2024–2025), a collaborative sound installation with Vicky Clarke responding to the Semipalatinsk Nuclear Test Site, and Prometheus Brought Fire (2024–2025), a multi-channel installation with scripted chatbot developed for the Goethe-Institut’s SOLITUDE platform.
