Farah Fayyad is a graphic designer and printmaker from Lebanon, currently based between Beirut and Amsterdam. Working primarily within the cultural field, her practice is rooted in politically and socially engaged projects, with a particular focus on Arabic typography, and bilingual editorial and exhibition design. Trained in Arabic calligraphy, Fayyad brings an attentiveness to language, structure and form to her broader design practice. Screen-printing is also central to her work, as a space for experimentation and teaching, and as a public medium activated through interventions and performances. Across these different forms, she approaches design as a means of engaging with cultural and political narratives and creating spaces for collective exchange.
