Esther Mugambi

Esther Mugambi (Kenya/Australia) is a performance artist based in Amsterdam. Her work crosses boundaries between theatre and sound art.  She delights in interacting with her audience, and inspiring connection in a world in which technological means have complicated direct communication. In her audio series ‘Podcast for Introverts’ she creates a soundscape that charms on a subliminal level.  Mugambi is a versatile performer and has performed both locally and internationally with groups such as DNO, Rosa Ensemble, Belarus Free Theatre, Eef van Breen group and independent artists such as Sarah van Lamsweerde and Kiluanji Kia Henda.  Mugambi holds a degree in Theatre (University of W. Sydney) and a Masters in Performance (Dasarts Amsterdam).
