Eastern Playgrounds

Eastern Playgrounds is an Amsterdam-based Queer/Asian collective rooted in a desire to create spaces of communal care and joy. They celebrate a shared “Asianness”—a diasporic kinship that resonates across vastly different identities, experiences, and cultures—while resisting the tendency to flatten Asian identities into a monolith. With karaoke and mahjong as cornerstones, they host gatherings that weave in games, workshops, and playful experiments, often involving community members and sibling collectives to imagine expanded modes of coming together.
