Andrea Stultiens

Andrea Stultiens is a Dutch artist. The last couple of years her work has mostly been dealing with images of Africa, particularly with Uganda. The work is always related to historical (mostly photographic) imagery. In 2011 she initiated, together with Ugandan artist Rumanzi Canon, the archival platform History In Progress Uganda (HIP), which mainly functions on Facebook. The artistic products that come out of HIPUganda are always collaborations between Stultiens and diverse Ugandan partners. They are presented to Ugandan, African and European audiences.

Stultiens is as a lecturer and researcher connected to Academy Minerva in Groningen and currently is working on a dissertation within the PhDArts program of Leiden University.
