24 Hours Oost: Exhibition tours 'Really? Art and Knowledge in Time of Crisis'
Saturday 7 September 2024 marks the start of 24 Hours Oost, where you can discover Amsterdam East in different, surprising and new ways. Framer Framed will also open its doors to visitors that day, offering ongoing guided tours of our exhibition Really? Art and Knowledge in Time of Crisis.
To celebrate Amsterdam’s 750th anniversary, the municipality is organising eight events that put one of the city districts in the spotlight for 24 hours, together with residents, local entrepreneurs and cultural and social institutions in the neighbourhood.
The exhibition Really? Art and Knowledge in Time of Crisis deals with the manipulation and obfuscation of knowledge in media and politics. It includes works based on (forensic) research and data analysis, historical studies and ‘citizen science’: research in which artists and citizens themselves collect, classify and contribute to new knowledge creation.
If you’re curious about the stories behind the artworks, drop by Framer Framed on 7 September between 12:00 and 18:00.
Free tours will be offered at 13:00, 14:00, 15:00, 16:00 and 17:00 with a possibility of Dutch or English. Registration is not required.
Go to the event page on I Amsterdam or Amsterdam 750 for more information.
Framer Framed is supported by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science; Amsterdam Fund for the Arts; Municipality of Amsterdam; and VriendenLoterij Fonds.
