    Razan Hassan (she/they) is a Syrian-Dutch award-winning filmmaker and psychology researcher. Her journey as a refugee traveler adds to her work a certain depth of cultural insights and empathetic touch. After graduating from the Dutch Film Academy – Directing Documentary department, she’s been developing Life is Cinema method on healing and transforming using film as a tool and mindfulness as a practice.

    Razan: “It’s so rewarding to witness my community thrive in mental health and emotional wellbeing. Together with Mei, Malaz, Mahsa , Emilio and Aline we form a studio collective in Amsterdam under the name Electric Shadows. Fascinated by the artistic process, we create space for emerging artists and filmmakers to show their work, take the time to share their research with others”.
