Özge Calafato (she/her) is an academic, curator, and writer based in Amsterdam. She is a Lecturer in Literary and Cultural Analysis at the University of Amsterdam. Her research focuses on photography, archives, migration, transnational histories, and collective memory. She is the author of Making the Modern Turkish Citizen: Vernacular Photography in the Early Republican Era (I.B. Tauris/Bloomsbury, 2022). She previously served as the Assistant Director of Akkasah, the Center for Photography at the New York University Abu Dhabi.
