Saadat Sataeva

Saadat Sataeva is a filmmaker and visual artist from Kyrgyzstan whose work explores queer identity, emotional memory, and women’s rights through poetic, personal storytelling. A graduate of the Television, Cinema, and Media Arts program at the American University of Central Asia, Saadat’s debut short My Love Lives on the Field (2024) has screened at festivals across Central Asia, earning a Special Jury Award at the Bir Duino Human Rights Film Festival. Her recent documentary Voiceless portrays the anonymous online relationship between two young women living in Ukraine and Kyrgyzstan, reflecting on longing, distance, and silence. Through intimate, character-driven narratives, Saadat’s films challenge social norms and amplify underrepresented voices in the region.
