Utrecht University (UU) is a public research university in Utrecht, Netherlands. Established on 26 March 1636 and is one of the oldest universities in the Netherlands. It has an enrollment of 31,801 students and employs 7,191 faculty and staff. The university consists of seven faculties: Geosciences, Humanities, Law, Economics and Governance, Medicine, Science, Social and Behavioural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine. Utrecht University has been placed consistently in the top 100 universities in the world by prominent international ranking tables.
