The Picture Bridge Foundation (PBF) uses (participatory) photography as a means to tilt perspectives and thus arrive at new insights. Participatory photography is photography in which everyone actively participates in imagining their own situation and is therefore also a co-researcher.

The Foundation’s goal is to initiate (social) change. PBF believes that everyone has their own unique way of looking at the world and that photography is an appropriate way to capture everyone’s vision of life. PBF aims to initiate connections and (social) change by researching, developing and collecting stories in words and images.

PBF is led by Karine Versluis and Karijn Kakebeeke. In collaboration with a large network of organizations and talented professionals such as researchers, designers, trainers, or image makers.
