Knowledge Frontiers is a project by The British Academy. Knowledge Frontiers activities aim to enable different communities of knowledge and practice to illustrate the unique added value of international and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Knowledge Frontiers focuses on the complexities of global change, the formation of composites that defy disciplinary knowledge, and the proliferation of diverse communities of knowledge, practice and intelligence suggesting the need for an inquiry into the nature of valid knowledge and evidence, and their formative requirements and professional moorings today and in the future. Knowledge Frontiers has an interdisciplinary and international outlook, and an ability to convene transnational dialogues and enable regional and comparative perspectives.

The various activities which Knowledge Frontiers carries out aim to broach and illustrate expressions of interdisciplinarity as well as of the effective co-design and co-production of knowledge between the expert and the lay or the theoretical and the applied. They examine how valid knowledge, knowledge associations and evidence are developed, communicated and disseminated, and the factors which can serve as barriers in different political or cultural settings. They also seek to develop connections between disciplines, researchers and institutions, with a view to promoting the exchange of knowledge and the creation of new collaborations.
