Framer Framed Noord Trip to IDFA: The Price of the Sun

Join Framer Framed Noord for a free film screening! IDFA has provided tickets for the documentary The Price of the Sun on Monday 16 November at Het Ketelhuis.

Framer Framed Noord is a community project space for art and culture in Amsterdam-Noord where local knowledge, collective practices and artistic research come together. This year, IDFA provided tickets to Framer Framed Noord and its neighbours.

The documentary The Price of the Sun tells the story of how the construction of a sustainable energy park destroys the traditional way of life of a small nomadic Amazigh community. Director Jérôme Le Maire follows the Aït Marghad community, which has grazed its sheep on land that has been perceived as communal since time immortal. The development of the world’s largest energy park gradually transforms the landscape, pushing the community into a corner and forcing its members to abandon their centuries-old way of life. The documentary showcases the darkside of the green energy revolution.
