Selasar Sunaryo Art Space - Bandung

Selasar Sunaryo Art Space (SSAS) is a non-profit organization in Bandung, that aims to support the development of the practice and study of visual arts and culture in Indonesia. Founded in 1998 by Sunaryo, with the direction and support of the Selasar Sunaryo Foundation, SSAS’s main focus is on contemporary art programs and activities oriented to public education, through permanent collection exhibitions, as well as solo or joint exhibitions featuring works of art from young and senior artists, from Indonesia and abroad.

As a cultural centre, SSAS also organizes exhibitions, discussions, residencies and workshops related to other art disciplines such as design, craft, performing arts, literature, architecture, and so on. All types of activities at SSAS – including children’s programs, music concerts, theatre performances, film screenings, literary readings, lectures and various other activities – are designed under the direction of the Curatorial Advisory Board consisting of academics, critics and art practitioners. In its mission, SSAS is also involved in international contemporary art networks through collaboration with various foreign institutions.
