Stanley Bremer
Stanley Bremer (b. 1952) has been the director of the WereldMuseum, Rotterdam, since 2001. In 1998, Bremer also worked as the director of the Maritime Museum in Curaçao.
Bremer studied Museology, Exhibition Design and Didactic Presentation at Leiden University. Before his museology studies, he gained broad experience, working as an independent graphic and product designer. After receiving his degree, Bremer held numerous positions in the cultural and education sectors.
He was also an art director and co-founder of project office Meeter & Bremer (Ede en Leiden), as well as a visiting professor at Leiden University’s program for post-academic museum employees and its Museology master’s program. Bremer was a guest speaker for The Exotic View debate on 28 February 2010, organised in collaboration with Kosmopolis, RRKC (Rotterdamse Raad voor Kunst & Cultuur), and Framer Framed.
