Simon Kentgens
Simon Kentgens (he/him) is an artist, lecturer and researcher whose work centres on self- organisation, collective autonomy and forms of commoning. He initiated Clublokaal in Breda, an open and welcoming art space for collective practices and experiments in resistance. Based on solidarity and mutual support, Clublokaal explores ways of working together that encourage long-term collaboration, both locally and further beyond. Recently, Clublokaal started a research trajectory into sugar production in and around Breda, with a focus on the former sugar factory in the city centre.
Simon is a member of Sunflower Soup, a collective that explores horizontal forms of making and multiplicity of voices. Sunflower Soup has presented projects at TENT Rotterdam (Peel the Power, 2026), W139 Amsterdam (PPP , 2025) and Marres Maastricht (Plantiarchy, 2023). At Plaatsmaken in Arnhem, Sunflower Soup curates the long-term programme H0ha, which explores printmaking as a form of protest.
