Rucha Kulkarni is a visual artist and social art practitioner working across painting, textile and installation. Her interdisciplinary practice explores themes of identity, migration, memory and community through collaborative and process-based methodologies. Grounded in traditional craft and feminist pedagogy, her projects engage storytelling, care and embodied knowledge as tools for collective authorship and dialogue.

She has exhibited internationally at institutions including the Wereldmuseum (Netherlands); the Museum of Modern Art of Bahia, Salvador (Brazil); and the Asia Culture Centre, Gwangju (South Korea). Her work has been supported by the Mondriaan Fonds, Stimuleringsfonds, and the Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF). Her work was recently presented in Choreographies of Compliances, a duo exhibition with Razia Barasatie at South Asian Contemporary in Amsterdam.

From 7 October to 13 November 2026, Kulkarni presents Bonds Per Stitch (2024-ongoing) in collaboration with Framer Framed. This is a long-term participatory project exploring migration, belonging, memory and relationships through textile practice, developed across India and the Netherlands.

Kulkarni currently lives and works between Amsterdam and Pune.
