Mariana Lanari

Mariana Lanari is an artist and PhD candidate at the Amsterdam School of Heritage, Memory, and Material Culture (AHM) at the University of Amsterdam.

In 2019 she cofounded Archival Consciousness in collaboration with graphic designer Remco van Bladel to investigate new publishing methods for cultural libraries and archives. Archival Consciousness is supported by Creative Industries fund NL, Digital Culture program and MediaFutures, received funding from the European Union’s framework Horizon 2020 for research and innovation and is part of ACKnowledge, Art Routes from the Dutch Research Agenda 2020 (NWA/NWO).

Her work has been shown at the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, Van Zijl Langhout Gallery, FLAM – Festival of Live Arts Amsterdam, Arti Amititae, W139, Van Abbemuseum, Transmission Gallery (Glasgow), Casa do Povo (São Paulo), de Appel Amsterdam, Framer Framed, Amsterdam among others.

Lanari is a member of the advisory board of De Appel Mobile Archive (NL), and of DAAP – Digital Archive of Artist Publishing (UK) and Printroom (NL). She is a member of ARIAS, Amsterdam Research Institute of the Arts and Sciences, and of TARR – Third Cycle Artistic Research of the Rietveld Academy.
